Challenge Overview

Description du challenge

Nowadays, smart agents, whether human or AI, should be able to perceive their environment and anticipate its evolution. For instance, this would imply digital twin capabilities, ability to act (decision-making capability) and to communicate (Human-AI interaction, digital twin: data fusion). We are looking for some AI-based capabilities to help us accelerate our roadmap towards:

Digital twin capability

  • Trade-off between realism vs. efficiency (our smart agents work in real-time and with limited computing power)
  • Hybridize real and simulated data
  • Augment models with new data/information
  • Accelerate time to make actionable forecasts
  • Aggregate data and information coming from various heterogeneous sources
  • Cross-validate between data from the simulator and sensor data

Decision-making capability

  • Deal with dynamic problems where each decision has an impact on the next
  • High level of complexity and heterogeneity of the decision space

Human-AI interaction

  • Visualize in a more photorealistic rendering engine
  • New and innovative ways for Humans and AI to communicate

Wanted

Expert in:

  • Robotics and multi-agent systems
  • Reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms
  • Data fusion Engine
  • “Metrics design services”
  • Simulation capabilities (rendering engine)
  • Digital twin implementation

Projects you could be working on

  • Critical infrastructure protection:
We need to find ways to protect our critical infrastructure from unique drones or drone swarm attacks. What we have in mind would be to build an automated system capable of detecting, tracking, and assessing the threat level in real-time in order to respond accordingly and neutralize the threat.

  • Canadian coasts protection:
Canada possesses huge ocean boarders which are not easy to monitor and protect. We need to automate the monitoring activities using a smart agent system able to efficiently detect and inform about potential threats. With smart agent systems distributed all around the country, we should be able to help Canada better secure its boarders.
